We start from the whole yard instead. The pool, planting, paving, structures, lighting and entertaining areas are designed in the same plan, by the same team, for the way your household actually uses the space.

Coping, paving falls, drainage, retaining, fencing and garden beds all meet at the pool edge, and each one depends on the others.
Designing them in one plan means the water, stone and planting are resolved before anything is built: levels that drain, materials that suit salt air and summer sun, and lighting that makes the yard usable after dark.
